Advanced Phlebotomy Workshop
The Advanced Phlebotomy provides theory and practical training in routine adult and pediatric blood collection. Students will also review use of butterfly needle, capillary punctures and other difficult collections. The theory component of the workshop includes discussions in anatomy, equipment, supplies and procedure of blood collection. The practical conducted in the two days include training on both simulator and live patients. Introduction to Palliative Care
This program is intended to provide family members or health care workers with a better understanding of caring for terminally ill patients.
Introduction to Restorative Care
This program is intended to provide family members or health care workers with a better understanding of caring for patients who are recovering from a serious illness or accident. Students will learn how to assist patients in returning to their activities of daily living and the use of specific adaptive devices.
Introduction to Alzheimer's Care and Parkinson's Disease
This program is for friends and/or relatives who are living with or caring for a person who has Alzheimers or Parkinson's disease and wish to have a better understanding of the stages and symptoms. This assists them in learning how to cope with changes in the patients personality and their daily activities.
Introduction to Physiotherapy Assistant
This program allows prospective students who may be considering a career in Physiotherapy the opportunity for them discover more about the role and responsibilities in this particular field.Please check with Student Services for any pre-requisites & Tuition fees required for these certificate courses.
